AVA-Wagen, 1938
Developed at the Aerodynamische Versuchsanstalt Göttingen (AVA) with the collaboration of engineer Karl Schlör von Westhofen-Dirmstein, this aluminium body was mounted on the chassis of a Mercedes-Benz 170 H, and achieved a consumption that was 20 to 40 percent lower because of its aerodynamically optimised shape.
